TITLE: Bear Gulch
MEDIUM: scrimshaw on cow bone
DIMENSIONS/RUN TIME: 5″ x 2 1/2″ x 2″
DESCRIPTION/STATEMENT: I found this bone during my residency at Djerassi. The land, logged for redwoods, was later used for ranching and though ranching exists in pockets, most of the area has been converted to private residences or open space. I often walk the landscape and find different bones, deer and cow. This bone washed out after a particularly wet winter and is older than most found. I scraped and inked the landscape that the bone was found in.
